Atlanta, Georgia, Oct. 23, 2019 – The Ray has been selected as a Shorty Social Good Award Finalist for our Highway of the Future in the Energy Category.

The Shorty Social Good Awards honor the social good initiatives brands, agencies & nonprofits are taking to make our world a better place. While the Shorty Awards have long-honored the best of social media, this competition includes efforts made by organizations to improve sustainability and diversity internally, foster globally-minded business partnerships and increase employee community and civic engagement.

Finalists were selected by members of the Real Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences, comprised of luminaries from advertising, media, entertainment and technology. The group includes Ogilvy Vice President of Social Change Kate Hull Fliflet, Matchfire Founder and CEO Chris Noble, Former White House Creative Director and Digital Strategist Ashleigh Axios, ATTN: Partner Brad Haugen, and more. Social Good Award winners will be announced and honored at the ceremony on Thursday, November 14th, in New York City.

The Ray believes that renewable energy and the transportation sector are linked together and that unlocking that connection can be a key component to reducing the global impact of our transportation sector on carbon pollution. Check out The Ray’s entry.

ABOUT THE RAY

The Ray is a proving ground for the evolving ideas and technologies that will transform the transportation infrastructure of the future, beginning with the corridor of road that is named in memory of Ray C. Anderson (1934-2011), a Georgia native who became a captain of industry and was recognized as a leader in green business when he challenged his company, Atlanta-based Interface, Inc., to reimagine the enterprise as a sustainable company—one that would pursue zero environmental footprint. Chaired by Ray’s daughter Harriet Langford, The Ray is an epiphany of the Ray C. Anderson Foundation.
