On October 20, 2024, RayDay celebrated its 10th anniversary, honoring the life and legacy of Ray C. Anderson (1934-2011). Hosted by the Ray C. Anderson Foundation as a gift to the community, the event offered free admission and a fun, educational experience for all ages at Serenbe, GA. RayDay continues to embody Anderson’s vision of environmental stewardship by bringing together families, thought leaders, and organizations to foster meaningful connections around sustainability.

A key contributor to RayDay’s growth and success is Sue Anne Morgan and her team at ideaLand, who have transformed the event into an energy-conscious, zero-food-waste celebration. This year’s event gathered over 70 organizations, each showcasing innovative environmental initiatives. Exhibitors, including No More Liddering and The Wylde Center, engaged attendees through interactive workshops and educational exhibits. A highlight of this year’s event was the expanded EV Showcase featuring the latest electric vehicle models from Kia and Porsche, a fleet vehicle from Cobb County Fleet Management, and two electric buses, including Blue Bird’s EV school bus. Yamaha also presented a hydrogen-powered golf car, spotlighting advancements in alternative transportation.

As attendees reflected on a decade of RayDay, the event stood as a testament to the power of community engagement and environmental innovation. The day served not only as a celebration of Ray C. Anderson’s visionary legacy but also as an inspiring call to action for building a more sustainable future.
