Pottstown is a suburb of Philadelphia located along a riverfront borough known for its historic downtown. Once known as a steel town that helped build the Golden Gate Bridge, the town is experiencing gentrifying growth pressures from development.
Pottstown has a mix of urban, suburban, and rural areas. Its well-developed transportation system consists of two highways, Amtrak, SEPTA, and a local bus system (PART). The city wants to implement policies and practices to develop equitable Transit-Oriented Development around its historic train station and throughout the city.
To assist Pottstown, The Ray and its partners helped the community finalize a subgrant that provides an opportunity for continued education at the MPACT 2024 Conference in Philadelphia. They also helped finalize another subgrant with Strive Initiative Inc. for community Equitable Transit-Oriented Development (eTOD) engagement and youth skills development.
