The reason I mention this here is that I recently had the opportunity to chat with Costas Simoglou, who is the director of the Georgia Center of Innovation for Energy Technology.
Costas started by telling me about a guy called Ray C. Anderson, who founded a company called Interface. In the mid-1990s, at the height of his success, Ray started work on making Interface a Zero-Waste organization and spreading the good word about sustainability and protecting the environment.
