The city of Doraville, GA, was originally a small farming community that transformed with the opening of a General Motors assembly plant in 1947. The plant closed in 2008 and is now home to Assembly Atlanta, a film studio. The city enjoys a compact yet dynamic physical area in the northeastern Atlanta metropolitan area. Its boundaries are strategically defined, balancing urban conveniences and suburban tranquility.

The city’s strong sense of community and commitment to diversity and inclusion are evident in various organizations like the Doraville Chamber of Commerce, the Doraville Community Foundation, and the Doraville Cultural Arts Council. Doraville has a diverse population and is home to one of the largest populations of Asian immigrants in the United States. One of the city’s main focuses is engaging the diverse, multi-lingual population to help advance mobility opportunities.

Doraville utilized the support from The Ray and other capacity-building partners to advance projects that enhance mobility and improve safety for bicyclists throughout the community.
