STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) on The Ray was launched in the Fall of 2022. The program connects The Ray’s unique resources, including established technological infrastructure and experiential tours of The Ray Highway, to the robust commitment to STEAM in West Georgia.
In partnership with the Callaway Foundation, Chick-fil-A, and Kia Georgia, STEAM on The Ray introduces middle and high school students in Troup County and West Georgia not only to transportation infrastructure, but presents real-time technical innovations that are at the forefront of Georgia’s future career opportunities.
At The Ray, we aim to support the effort to foster middle and high school student’s interests in STEAM-related careers as Georgia positions itself to be a leader in clean energy and sustainable transportation industries. The Ray brings students to our real-world proving ground at the Georgia Visitor Information Center (VIC) where many of our sustainable transportation projects are located. Dedicated STEAM and The Ray staff then lead in-class projects to help students better imagine themselves working in these industries.
